How Remote Fire Watch Works
A structured, engineering-led process from initial assessment through to ongoing monitoring and system removal.
A Complete Service — From Assessment to Removal
PSquare manages the entire Remote Fire Watch process, including site assessment, Fire Safety Plan preparation, AHJ coordination, system deployment, 24/7 monitoring and system removal. Clients do not need to retain separate consultants for engineering or regulatory coordination.
Site Assessment
PSquare reviews why fire watch is required, project conditions, building size and configuration, and the applicable jurisdiction. This initial assessment informs the monitoring strategy and determines the path to acceptance.
Engineered Fire-Watch Strategy
Based on the site assessment, PSquare determines the detection coverage required, alarm measures, and project-specific response requirements. The strategy is tailored to the specific site, building type and project stage.
Fire Safety Plan & AHJ Coordination
Where required, PSquare prepares the project-specific Fire Safety Plan and seeks project-specific acceptance from the applicable municipality, fire department or Authority Having Jurisdiction. This is included as part of the service.
System Deployment
Following acceptance, PSquare deploys temporary wireless detection and notification equipment throughout the required areas. The system is configured to the project-specific response protocol.
24/7 Remote Monitoring
Automatic detection continuously monitors protected areas without requiring a dedicated fire-watch person to remain on site. Professional remote monitoring is active around the clock, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Immediate Response Protocol
When smoke, heat or another monitored condition is detected, the project-specific notification and escalation protocol is initiated. This may include site alarm activation, notification of the monitoring service, and notification of designated project personnel.
Adapt as Conditions Change
As construction or building conditions evolve, PSquare can relocate or expand coverage to match. Detection devices can be repositioned as floors are added, work areas move, or access changes.
Removal
When monitoring is no longer required — because permanent systems are in place, the building is occupied, or the project is complete — PSquare removes the temporary monitoring system.
